Cold Steel: The trivia
The filming started and was finished in 2001 but due to delays in the post-production the actual movie wasn't finished until 2003
Mr. Steel was originally created for a series of superhero movies about the hero Thunderfist. Mr. Steel was the villain and his sidekick was the “Evil Robot from Cyborg Hell”.
Cold Steel was originally meant to meet several other Steel Co. agents and not only Black Steel. One of which would be wearing an iron mask.
The way that Black Steel speaks (with a clearly dubbed voice) is a reference to the voice of Scorpion in the 1995 film "Mortal Kombat".
The scenes in the Steel Corporation headquarters is actually shot in three different buildings and in two different cities.
The scene where Cold Steel drives his motorbike was shot over a month after the filming of the “Former employee scene”.
The last scene involving Mr. Steel and Cold Steel was shot several months after everything else. The producers had problems with finding an “office”.
There was a scene after the pre-credits where Cold Steel is given the mission where he's supposed to kill the foremer employee. This scene never made it to the final cut of the movie.
The red stains on the wall in the “Surgery scene” is not blood. They’re parts of a Donald Duck poster that had to be ripped down in order to shoot the scene.
The german bodyguard was not meant to be german at first. This was decided when the directors thought that he looked german with those clothes on.
The old saying that goes “There is no knowledge that is not power” is in fact not an old saying. It’s a quote taken directly from a Mortal Kombat videogame.
The bottle of scotch on the former employee’s table contains actual scotch. But his glass contains applejuice.
One of the MP5 machineguns used by the german bodyguard is a watergun and was originally orange and green. For some reason the directors decided to paint it black.
Max Jönsson and Kim Åkesson are not brothers in real life. But both are in fact half asian.
The toystore that was used belongs to the parents of Gustav Sundwall who starrs is several small parts in the film. Their only demands fro letting the crew using the store was a final copy of the movie. The scenes were shot on a Sunday when the store was closed.
In the original script Mr. Steel was paralyzed and sat in a wheelchair.
